Add Profile

Adding an applicant profile may be needed for you to gain access to functions on pages such as Apply Now or Manage Workspaces.

An Organization Applicant profile will associate you with an organization and make you visible to users who can give you access and privileges through the Manage Applicants page.

How to Add a Profile

  1. Login to Grants.gov.

  2. Click the My Account link in the upper-right corner of the Grants.gov banner.

  3. Click the Manage Profiles tab.

  4. Click the Add Profile button in the Manage Profiles tab.

  5. Select the Profile Type for the new profile you wish to create.

    • Organization Applicant: If you will work on applications on behalf of an organization, and not yourself, select this option and enter its Unique Entity ID (UEI). The organization must be fully registered at SAM.gov.

    • Individual Applicant: If you will apply for grants for yourself, select this option.

  6. Name your profile. A unique Profile Name will help you tell your profiles apart. This can be the organization name, since there can only be one profile per UEI—organization—within an account.

  7. Enter your Job Title. If you are an Organization Applicant, users who can assign you roles can see this information.

  8. Click the Save button once you have confirmed the information in the Add Profile modal is accurate. Or, click the Cancel button to end this process.

    Informative status

Electronic Business Point of Contact (EBiz POC): An organization’s EBiz POC is automatically authorized to work in Grants.gov on behalf of an entity registered with SAM.gov. Grants.gov recognizes the EBiz POC based on the email address for the user’s account and information from SAM.gov.

Restoring a Deleted Profile

When you add a profile, the Grants.gov system checks for a matching deleted profile and restores it if found.

If an Individual Applicant profile is restored, the user will have access to any submissions made under the previous profile.

If an Organization Applicant profile is restored, and if that profile has submission privileges, then the user will have access to any submissions made under the previous profile.
