Change Password Tab

Grants.gov users who are already logged in can change passwords within My Account using the following procedure.

How to Change Your Password After Logging In

  1. Log into your Grants.gov account.

  2. Click the My Account link in the upper-right corner of the Grants.gov banner.

  3. Click the Change Password tab.

  4. Enter your old password. If you don’t remember it, click the “Forgot My Password” link to the right of the Old Password field. Then, you can reset your password by entering the Username and Email Address associated with your account.

  5. Enter your new password. The password you choose must meet the following password requirements:

    • Must contain at least eight (8) characters

    • Must contain at least one (1) uppercase letter (A-Z)

    • Must contain one (1) lower case letter (a-z)

    • Must contain at least one (1) number (0-9)

    • Must contain one (1) special character (e.g. ! @ # $ % ^ & *)

    • Cannot be the same as the previous six (6) passwords

    • Cannot contain dictionary words, names, or your Username

    • Cannot contain common password sequences (e.g. 1234, !@#$%)

  6. Click the Submit button. If completed successfully, Grants.gov will display a confirmation message on the page. You will also receive an email notification of your password change.
