Preview Grantor Validation Tab
In the Preview Grantor Validation tab, applicants are able to preview what errors and warnings their application package would encounter from the grant-making agency. This preview feature compares the current state of your application package against the validations in the grant-making agency's grants system.
By using this feature, applicants are able to preemptively review and correct errors and warnings in their application package that would prevent it from successfully processing upon submission.
This is a service the grant-making agency may choose to provide, so this feature is not available in all workspaces. It is only available when the grant-making agency offers the Preview Grantor Validation capability.
Using the Preview Grantor Validation feature does not affect or prevent you from submitting your application package, even if the Preview Grantor Validation is still in the Request in Progress status when you wish to submit your application package.
How to Preview Grantor Errors and Warnings Before Submission
Click the Preview Grantor Validation tab from the Manage Workspace page.

Note: If the Preview Grantor Validation tab is not visible on this page, then you do not have access to this feature because the grant-making agency does not offer this service.
Click the Request Grantor Validation button. Please allow for processing time; clicking this button sends a request to the grant-making agency's system to process the validations and return it to the Grants.gov system.
Click the Refresh Status button to update the Preview Grantor Validation table.
Check the Status column. Once the status is Request Completed, click the View link in the Actions column.

Note: If there is a connection error, the View link will not be available even if the status is Request Completed.
Review the information provided in the Preview Errors and Warnings pop-up modal. The errors, warnings, and descriptions are generated by the grant-making agency. If you have questions about how to resolve these errors and warnings, use the contact information in the Preview Errors and Warnings pop-up modal. The Grants.gov Support cannot assist with these as they are specific to the grant-making agency and its system.
(Optional) Click the Export Detailed Data button to download the errors and warnings in a XLS file.
Why is the Request Grantor Errors button inactive (i.e., it appears but is "grayed out")?
The Request Grantor Validation button is only activated when all the following conditions are true:
The workspace has no Alert
All mandatory and selected optional forms have a “Passed” status
There is no existing request for grantor validation (i.e., a request with the “Request in Progress” status)
Warning status
Caution: The Preview Grantor Validation feature is provided by the grant-making agency. Grants.gov is not responsible for the accuracy of or changes to the agency's warnings or errors. Utilizing the Preview Grantor Validation feature does not guarantee that your application package will pass all the grant-making agency's validations upon submission.

Note: If your organization uses custom roles rather than the core roles in Grants.gov, please refer to your internal training resources about Grants.gov. The Grants.gov Online User Guide uses the core roles (i.e., Workspace Manager, Standard AOR, and Expanded AOR) to explain which users may access and perform actions. For more information, review the Manage Organization Roles help article.
